This is the first blog post! I am officially no longer a ‘blog-virgin’, and to be honest, as I type away, it is actually a lot easier than what I thought it would be…once I got started.
You see, I agonised over this blog post.
How to write?
What to write?
Will people want to read it?
Every piece of advice I have been given, pretty much says the same thing…’Just get started.’
This advice can be applied to just about every area of your life, unless you are thinking of drink driving, drug taking and various other dubious activities!
So what is it that stops us from getting started?
I stumbled across this quote on Facebook (where else?)
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” – Maryanne Williamson.
It really resonated with me… what would it mean to be powerful? Fit? Healthy? Slim? Disease free? Anxiety free?
For some it would be scary. It could mean stepping out of their comfort zone, friend zone, job zone and letting go of something that, maybe we have had for a long time, something that like to talk about, that gives us attention and comfort from others.
So to make changes in our lives, we don’t need to change everything at once…we just need to get started.
So as I got wrapped up in what ‘style’ of writing to adopt. After much deliberating, I decided that the style of writing that I would adopt would be MINE.
So that’s it folks, if you are visiting my site (and I thank you for that!), then you can expect to find honest, practical, up-to-date information on health and wellbeing.
So what do you need to ‘just get started’?
Be brave and take a chance…it feels really good 🙂
